This is a simple question many bloggers can’t remember again not to talk of how they started it long time ago. Many don’t know how they started again and those that wanted to start almost start wrongly and they have forgotten that blogging is more than just writing and updating their blog alone.
But am going to assure you that if you want to start a blog either today or later, I must tell you that this is the right post for you and if for the purpose of the day ahead, just endeavour to bookmark this post for the sake of quality blogging.
This post simply demand an answer on how you started blogging long ago, if I may guess I may be right but I don’t want to because am the type that doesn’t assume what I think people knows.
Starting a successful blog requires some eye opening on how to start and what to start with if you really dream big to dominate your turf in blog-o-sphere, however, below are you require to have a success full blog.
But before that, do note that blogging is like a journey, when you start rightly you will enjoy the benefit thereof and vice-versa. Take for instance a journey of Johnny and Joel from a certain , from Point A to Point B is 100km, from Point B to Point C is 12okm and from Point A to Point C is 150km, both Johnny and Joel are required to get to the same point C at the same time and Johnny decided to take through from A to B and then to C while Joel went straight from A to C, definitely Joel will get to the required before Johnny just because he took the shortest distance and follow the right path, so also his blogging career.
Choose a better platform: Without much ado, good beginning makes good end. The number one thing to consider before starting a blog is what platform will be the best for you and make your blog a better one which will make your blog a successful one. Some of blogging platform which you can choose form are: Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, Weebly, Squarespace, TypePad.
The most popular amongst this list are wordpress and blogger. However, the best free tool I can recognize amongst them is wordpress because it very easy to customize if you can afford to buy a very good host however if you can’t afford a host for a start you can try blogger is also a better platform most especially for beginner.

Now that you have decided on what platform you should start your blog on, let proceed to the next guide mostly needed after the above.
What Niche: This is where most blogger make a very big mistake, choosing a wrong niche is the beginning of unsuccessful blogging career. But you need to ask yourself just two simple questions before choosing a niche as to whether you are go to go in your blogging journey.
- What exactly do you want to blog about?
- What style should you go for as you journeyed into the world of blogging/what is your blogging module operandi?
Why all these questions adetechblog because I know you may want to ask? Anyway, don’t think am too inquisitive but I need to make some clarification here as I won’t let you regret your action for starting a new today.
Talking about what you need to blog about, many blog on their profession while some on helping people around them to solve their problems. For instance, as a mathematician, I can decide to start my new blog on my profession and I may choose not, it depends on what am ready to blog about.
More so, your blogging style is all about your blogging strategy, how often do you want to update your blog; daily, weekly, twice a week or monthly but start writing and see what will happen and keep blogging.
There are many things to consider when talking about blogging and when choosing it either as a full time job or part-time as the case may be, many bloggers will talk about template design, host, domain name, etc. All these are good to mention but they came on board after gaining some blogging momentum in blog-o-sphere.

Very good article, Adesanmi. Sadly many people will read and shrug their shoulders saying “I know all that stuff”, but do they really? Many bloggers actually get started on the wrong foot and end up giving up way earlier in the game.
It’s really important to know how to start blogging on the right foot. It’s just like saying to build the right house, one needs to get the right foundation done!

People become somehow astonish and what follows next is this, what is blogging?
Can I also do some? But the question is, are you interested in blogging because of the money or you have a passion for it?

You are on point! Blogging is just an act of sharing what you are an expert on and being paid for it over the time of doing it. Yes, there are hundreds of bloggers out there but how many of them blog for passion just for a start? The answer can be somewhat known, but when the mindset of making money got abolished, they quickly change their mind and keep blogging hoping that it will one day turn for better and should have been the first mindset so as not to get bored with blogging.

Probably the hardest question is ‘What niche’ and this question is much more harder to the counselors and mentors than to the newbies themselves.
I get fairly good amount of questions ‘what should I blog about?’ I do not go through the format set of questions like ‘what is your passion?’, ‘what is your expertise’ and bla bla but a straight question ‘Why do you want to create a blog?’
You won’t believe me but they don’t tell me the correct answer on first throw. The keep on wandering here and there until finally thrashed down to ‘I want to earn money through Adsense’
Do you believe that?
I guess, almost 70% or more newbies want to start blogging just to make money with Adsense. There’s nothing wrong in that and we have quite good amount of suggestions and tips to guide them. But, what makes it look funny is that they try to hide the motif at first.
Now once you know what is the reason your follower wants to start a new blog, what are your suggestions? How can you help him/her the best way?

All these newbie mindset got me laughing not because they want to make money blogging but the anxiousness they posses with which they wanted to start. Creating a blog is very easy like A,B,C… but what about meeting up the standard and winning its competitor. Now, let forget about the monetary aspect of blogging and talk about what difficulties they are likely to encountering on the way. Traffic, relationship, comment, etc. and all these should be their question for a start and not how to start earning as early as possible and if however things were like this, they need a chronic mentor who will brand their online mindset and set their thought ablaze for the sake mentorship.

Hmmm! You got it, Anybody can fall, and there is nothing bad in it but the problem lies in falling without making an attempt to rising again. Choosing a nice blogging niche can be competitive and dishearten at time but going by what you loving doing most will make you the best blogger of your time and that will put an end to your failure. Steve Jobs try more than enough time but he never gave up in a moment but today, he’s been reckoned with as a co-founder of Apple Inc.

Great post buddy! However, I prefer buying a blog instead of starting one from the scratch. For me starting is painful with zero traffic, Google sandbox effect, etc.
However, for a person with less budgets starting could be a great option. Thanks for sharing Adesanmi!

Yeah, Blogging is not just writing to update the blog. I would say that the bloggers should posses some qualities to thrive in blogging.
Selecting niche to blog is more important for a blogger to update his/her blog often without difficulty. So it would be good if the bloggers start their blog on their fascinating subjects.

The first mistake most people make is choosing the wrong niche, once you choose a niche you are not passionate about or know much of, you are bound to run dry on post ideas in no time. Blogging success requires consistency and the ability to reach right down inside you and come up with a killer content always, else you are bound to fail.

Well written buddy, I started my blogging career with blogger but soon i realized that wordpress is a better platform and started another blog on wordpress. The wordpress blog is showing great progress but the blogger blog is still not able to generate traffic. Well, it doesn’t mean that people should start moving to wordpress. Both of the platforms are good, it depends on you how you utilize them. I have utilized wordpress and it’s doing great for me.
Choosing a correct niche has always been a big problem for me. Whenever i started a blog on a chosen niche at start everything went fine but soon the ideas for writing vanished from my brain about that specific niche. I’m not sure why this happened to me. Now, i’m working on a single niche and it’s good that i have a lot of ideas to write about.

When it comes to the blogging platform it really depends if you are good at customizing and have some knowledge about coding than WP is the right choice, but if you look at a out-of-the-box solution then Blogger may be a better fit.
