  7. Adesanmi: When I started blogging 11 years ago, I stumbled upon Blogger (then a small company), and I saw the "light". It was very easy to start blogging. The hard thing was to come up with content! ;) I often get the question to answer the tech. things about blogging, but I say you have to understand the idea of the blogosphere first, after that it is a piece a cake. The different blog tools out there are very easy to work with. I say to my students in social media that it takes 5 minutes to start a blog! I beat you with 10 minutes! ;) I suggest that the newbies check out Blogger, Tumbler and Posthaven and then pick one platform of these. Later on you could transform to other more advanced platforms with more features, e.g., WordPress and Squarespace.
