The easiest online journal everybody moves into this day is blogging, both the professional webmasters and newbies make use of blog to advertise their product and make more sales. Many bloggers believed blogging for money is a trash and really it’s because money is the root of all evil but blogging and money are too like poles which attract: automatically bloggers must make some income from his/her blog to bring about motivation and ability to do more.
I wonder why you feel joyous the day you succeeded Google AdSense second review on your blog? Wasn’t it because you believe with AdSense you will start making money online if you have not being making any cent already but if you have an alternative like sponsor post, selling ads space, involving in freelance etc., definitely Google AdSense will be an added advantages.
Although I’m not going to discuss blog monetization method here in the post but what am going to discuss here is simple but tricky and worth discussing.
Setting up a blog or sustaining it which is more difficult? Before one can be regarded as a successful blogger, some critical must be met and these are what I referred to as sustaining a blog.
Must read: Win-win strategy in blog-o-sphere
There are many blogging platforms online but the most popularly used amongst them are blogger and wordpress. Majority of the blog online is either exist on blogger or wordpress meaning that they are the most popular. It takes less than 18 minutes to set up a blog on either platform and after that, what follows is to publish quality content, join social network group for promotion, and optimize your blog content for search engine through ethical blog SEO.
Below are the reasons why it is very difficult to sustain a blog than setting up a blog.
Traffic: The basic theory of all successful bloggers after quality content is quality traffic most especially from search engine if through increase your blog earning and conversion rate is your topmost priority.
Must read: Don’t think about the money, go for motivation
Traffic plays a major role in the life of every blog. And this has almost prompted some bloggers to quit because they couldn’t generate enough traffic to sustain their blog and as a result, they could not withstand the traffic pressure and they quit, meanwhile quality traffic does not come overnight rather blog traffic is a gradually process and this often depend on proper understanding of blog SEO if you are optimizing for search engine.
Google PageRank: This is a blatant truth that every blogger aspire to have a very good PageRank on Google search engine but how many of we bloggers were able to accomplish this within the first 6-month of their blogging career? Our believe is that the higher the level of our blog PageRank the higher the level of our blog will likely optimized for search engine base on it keyword, but how many bloggers were able to accomplish reasonable Google PageRank within the first 6-month when Google update their PageRank algorithm? Very limited number of bloggers! Nevertheless some bloggers who believe in the law of “Realism” were able achieve this by working hard on their blog by building a reputable backlinks from an authority blog.

AlexaRank: This is one of the hidden treasures behind every successful blog and if you think it’s not why do you install AlexaRank widget on your blog and surf your blog on browser that supports AlexaRank? The lesser the AlexaRank, the higher the number of visitors that do visit that blog but how do you achieve this? Is this very easy or not? When my blog was a month old, it AlexaRank was 240k but to be sincere, throughout that month it was a sleepless night and a hectic day. AlexaRank is very important in bringing Advertisers to our blog to advertise their product but how easy is it to build?

Gain Reader Trust: Blogging minus trust is like a mobile phone without service. No more no less. Before you can gain your blog readers trust, definitely quality content in a quality way must have been published. Gaining readers trust is not easy in blog-o-sphere most especially in a competitive niche. All bloggers want to gain trust to sustain their blog how easy is that? Sustenance is maintenance.
Comment and Guest blogging: Base on my knowledge, and what I read, gaining explosive in blog-o-sphere requires this headline. How many blog cement (REASONABLE ONE) do you have per post and how many guest posts have you been able to publish ever since you have started blogging?
Must read: How to boost your blog SEO through blog comment
To sustain your blog for a start, you must make this your top-most priority. To leaving a reasonable comment on a blog means you will have to read through the whole article. I once read article that took me almost 27 – 30 minutes to understand with almost 2500 words, though it was lengthen but full of vital information and to leave a comment, I should be able to leave at least 10 lines if really I understood what I read but how easy is it?
Question: Setting up a blog or sustaining it, which one more difficult? Still don’t convince you yet? But don’t compromise my thought yet instead share your knowledge about this post on how you are sustaining your blog.

It is definitely true setting up a blog if you are doing it with word press or blogger but sustaining it is difficult as there are a lot of factors getting continuous ideas to write about is one of them. It becomes more if you have more than one blogs.

Hello Adesanmi,

Maintaining a blog is by far harder than setting it up.
If you already know how to setup a blog, it won’t take you long to achieve a standard blog but maintaining it? Ahhh… Maintaining means your traffic flow, comments, engagements, trust and loyalty…
Well, the way i keep maintaining my blog is always doing what you have been doing which is, be consistent.
Nice article by the way. do have a great weekend start

Hey Adesanmi,
When I read the heading of this post, my answer was – “sustaining the blog is no doubt more difficult”!
Setting up a blog is a one-time process but sustaining it a continuous and patience-demanding process.
Google rank, SEO, comments, guest blogging and the other point you mentioned require ones perseverance and dedication and is not an easy task.
A great post! Really liked it.

While it is a challenge to set up a blog, maintaining one is definitely not an easy job. It takes ongoing effort and insight as well as the ability to adapt to online and market changes to keep a successful blog going.

This is another food for thought but let me be frank here. Setting up a blog is very easy but sustaining it is the main problem.
It is not easy but yet still one has to strive hard!

For me sustaining is a tough task to do, because sustainability has got more responsibilities than setting it up. Sustainability is a continuous process, a process of development.

Thanks for this awesome article.

Setting up a blog is the easy part, sustaining a blog takes a lot and if you do not have what it takes to sustain a blog be sure it is going to fail. It takes pesistence and consistency to maintain a blog, one can simply pay a developer to set up a blog for him but running a blog on a paid services will cost you a lot as well. So its easier to set up a blog than to run it.
