    Hi Adensanmi,

Great tutorial that is easy to follow! I think we can take advantage from this knowledge, we can block urls that cause problems to our blog. An example of that problem would be spam or whatever it is, am I right?

    Hey Adesanmi,

A great post I must say!!! Sometimes its really annoying when a friend or a relative spend hours over you PC or laptop and specially for bloggers like us. You have given a tactful way indeed to deal with such situation…:)

The steps to block the desired websites seems quite simple with Avast Anti-Virus. But my question is can we do the same thing with Quick Heal? Actually I already have Quick Heal installed in my laptop. So in that case what should I do if I don’t want to uninstall Quick Heal???

    Can you help me?

Thanks for the information by the way…:)

    Hi, Adesanmi,
    Indeed Interesting. :)
The post is informative and I loved the way you are explaining it. These way can help us block some unwanted URLs. But I think, Blocking URLs for our friends are not so promising. They know everything about me. Why should I block any URLs for them, if I do so they will definitely catch me.
Thank you for making some good points. :)

    Hi Adesanmi,

Great tutorial of how to block websites. I currently use Malware Bytes and it blocks sites that it considers dangerous because of viruses.

I never heard of AVAST ANTI-VIRUS and it looks like it could be useful for someone who wanted to block certain sites.

Thanks for sharing these tips, next time I want to block a site I know where to come to get the software and the tutorials.

    Have a great day.

Good one. I’m a fan of Avast and I love their service. Nice tutorial also. This can be very much helpful like for my father. Very handy for parental control also.

Thanks for sharing it in BizSugar!

    Hi Adesanmi,

That’s a pretty handy program I suppose but as I was reading it I was thinking why would I want to block someone’s URL. If I don’t want to visit it I just don’t.

Now the handy trick definitely would be for those people who use your computer and you don’t want them having access to certain sites. That would definitely work but I don’t have that issue since I live alone and I only have one friend that will use my computer from time to time but he’s only logging into his email to print off a file.

Cool trick though and I’ll be sure to pass it along.

      Madam Adrienne,

There maybe no need to treat some friends like a friend because they understood what we are up to when talking about blogging while some will neither listen or believed you because of there own selfish interest and at this same time, this is as well good for parental control. Thanks for your comment ma.

    Hi Adesanmi,

I do not use Avast but I understand the principle. You can block any url on your PC with the help of your antivirus software.
This is cool, indeed. However, what really interests me is how to block a particular IP from visiting my site. Is it possible? I know that you can block an IP who sends you spam messages. However, can you block an IP from viewing your site?
Let’s say that I don’t want my cousin (or general, my relatives) to know about my site and my business. Some of them have internet access and I can find out their IPs. Can I block those IPs from arriving to my site?

    Have wonderful day
