Facebook Facebook: 7 reasons why Facebook is for bloggers

The benefits of Facebook to bloggers are numerous, and there is no doubt about the fact that almost all bloggers are Facebook addict, bloggers make use of Facebook as a social media more than any other internet marketers or entrepreneur. Joining countless number of groups on Facebook to share our blog post for quality traffic, building quality relationship as a blogger on Facebook, meeting both new and old friends; Facebook is the right channel to do these but what has Facebook done for you as a blogger who uses it 24 hours of the day, 7 days of the week, 52 weeks of the year and 12 month of the year?

This was a great challenge when my Dad asked me what I used to do on Facebook because he never knew I was a practicing blogger, but he knew am more or less a Facebook addict, either chatting with one or two friends, sharing of my articles, asking questions from group member, responding to friends update, sharing my own update and all the like still I don’t know why I love Facebook and why am so addicted to it.

The purpose of this article is to picture out some of what Facebook has done for me as a blogger, and what it can as well do for you as a blogger if you continue to use it. Below are some of the reasons why many bloggers are Facebook addict like me but they may never get to know the more reason why they found it so interesting why on Facebook.

1. Ask questions: Blogging is one of the online largest communities which accommodate almost everybody as long as you want to be called blogger. Many joined blog-o-sphere not because they are a vibrant and good writer but because we all have the notion that blogging is a money bank where you can just dash into and start earning big which is not true.

Many even started blogging not because of passion but because the have either PC or desktop as the case maybe.

My first Facebook group that has to do with blogging was where I ask questions on what I don’t know, even at times, I do ask what I think I know for confirmation whether am right or wrong from pro-bloggers since nobody is an Island of knowledge and I was new to the system them. Blogging is too wide for someone to be a master of all, outside search engine, the best way is to ask and be asked is Facebook group which is an element in Facebook.

2. Meeting people in/outside my Niche: Blog-o-sphere is like a tree with many branches, different people with different mind. There are different Niches bloggers can venture into when they start their blog journey which I also did but through Facebook I have been able to meet people who are better than me in my Niche, people to learn from, people to watch for in the community, people that worth being a mentor, and how to learn from people and relate with people of high quality.

Facebook is more than catching fun for bloggers though bloggers do catchy funs but all bloggers conversation is mostly on the development of their blogs most especially when chatting with fellow blogger which Facebook have been one of the social media platform where blog meets to share an idea together.

3. Boost my traffic:  Facebook is one of the main sources of my refer traffic, where I targets huge number of people by just sharing my blog post. Gaining search engine or organic traffic for new webmasters is not an easy task but with the power of Facebook for a start, bloggers are good to go with refer traffic.

For a blogger to succeed in blog-o-sphere quality traffic is mostly needed and without traffic no earning and no earning no motivation, as a blogger if at all you are not blogging for money. Blogging for passion is the real basis though; but earning from our blog can motivate us the more so as to do more.

4. Advertisement: Google and some other services are not the only place to advertise this day; Facebook is also a better place. What do you think about the advert on your Facebook official page on the right-hand side? Do you think it was a free advert from Facebook? No buddy, people are patronizing Facebook as a social media to advertise their product to the entire world to know what they have in stock, and have more customers to patronize them.

5. Facebook Like: I wonder how those bloggers with thousands of likes on their Facebook fan page started it and how they got those likes but the fact is that they invited their friends on Facebook to like their fan page for a start, to motivate others and so that will not miss out single post out in their frequent updates. .

6. Right source of information: As a blogger, I hardly find time to visit news website (Gosh! Very bad of me) and start reading, but with fellow bloggers update, who blogs on news and entertainment Niche am good to go with the right information in my disposal. The quickest way to get informed about what is happening around the world this day is Facebook, latest news, latest rumour, latest development etc. are available on Facebook and as a blogger that needs to stay updated, Facebook is also an information centre.

7. Sharing platform: Blogging is all about what you do, telling people about your hobby and sharing you activities. So also is Facebook, I remember I shared some of my current pictures/look this day with my friends on Facebook about my nation youth service corps and they were very excited.  If for not for Facebook that might not be possible until we were able to have a date but thank God for the power of Facebook. There are many things to share on Facebook as long as it does go against Facebook terms and conditions, such as files, video links, audio links, event etc.

Your view: What benefit have you derived from Facebook as a blogger? Do you have any reason for using Facebook? Share your view about the benefit of Facebook to you as a blogger.

    Hi Adesanmi,

You discussed all the positives and benefits associated with facebook! I must admit that facebook is also my favorite social networking site.

It offers me good return on investment. I invest time there, I get traffic, exposure and valuable information in return. The most important advantage is that I get to build relations with fellow bloggers there.
