5 Don’t of blog traffic

Blog traffic is our general problem as a blogger and that is the more reason almost all bloggers write about how to increase blog traffic always so as to help those who find it difficult to drive quality traffic to their blogs either from social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and search engines to make sure that their aim is achieved at last when talking about driving quality traffic to their blog.

5 Dont of blog traffic 5 Don’t of blog traffic

Earlier before now, we discuss 5 Dos of blog traffic which all bloggers must put in place if they really need to generate quality traffic to their blogs. Today’s post is more or less the opposite of what we discussed about DOS of blog traffic. There are no good things with a drawback either little or big, however we’ll be considering some element that are likely to hinder you from driving quality traffic to  your blog if at all other traffic procedure are fully carried out.

And in view of this, we shall discuss 5 don’t of blog traffic.

1. Use tag: Don’t dare forget to use tag in your blog post, using tag smartly will increase your blog traffic; although many pro- blogger don’t use tag but it is not advisable for bloggers who have not really grown wing in blog-o-sphere. Adding tag to  your blog post will serve as a supporting pillar to your blog traffic since tag are related keyword to your post targeting keyword and this will enables researchers to find your blog most especially on search engine if your keyword is searchable.

2. Spam: Spamming is very bad, almost everybody hates this, and one word comment is not good enough for a blogger. Leaving a reasonable comment will arrest both the blog readers and the author. If however you are using reliable spam plugin on your blog, you will discover many at times one word comment is often considered as spam. However, to be able to convince blog audience that you are good at what you are doing you must be able to leave up to the task by leaving comment like a writer or pro-blogger in view.

3. Publish your post with courage: Don’t be afraid to hit the publish button on your blog dashboard, despite the fact that it is not easy to drive quality traffic to you blog, yet unpublished post will not add any value to your blog and it will be of no value to your blog traffic, exercise little fear about what the comment might look like will definitely not help, not all commenter will rebuke your effort, some will correct and put you on the right path and this will give you the chance of editing the post and update again and such mistake will not happen again.

4. Be a good reader: As a blogger, either pro-blogger or newbie blogger, you don’t need to stop reading. Any writing skill that is found in space will likely not meant for readers. Visit other blogs either on related niche or not, read about their writing skills, adopt some and reject many as this will help to improve your writing skills and will definitely keep your blog visitor coming. Endeavour to subscribe to your favourite blog update, and read all their post update so that you will be able to write like a professional and comment like one and that is the more reason why you should start a blog.

5. Don’t lose focus on your goal: Losing insight on the more reason why you start blogging will not enable you to do what is right, blog-o-sphere is a large community where almost all bloggers are striving for survivor, so it may take a while before you gain momentum or your personal stand but keep doing and don’t lose insight of doing what is right.

Motivation is what you need to keep to this point; you need to be yourself till your goal is being achieved and thereafter. Be focus on your blog niche and don’t deviate because of pressure in that niche  or in the name of traffic if truly is your chosen niche, keep writing what your know either from your personal instinct, opinion, course of study, jokes etc. and that is what can bring about the fun in blog-o-sphere.

Conclusion: This may be simple enough but one good advice is better than advices, and I believe Rome was not build in a day; slow and steady win the Race!

    Hi Adesanmi,

I agree with you that you have to be willing to publish content, this is the only way that you will ever get your blog noticed.

Eventually as you begin promoting your blog and meeting and building new relationships with others you will eventually begin to get the traffic. This does take time, but it does work, I know because this is exactly what I’m doing to get more traffic.

Thanks for sharing these tips, they will definitely help anyone out who wants to better understand of what they should and shouldn’t do with their blog. Have a great weekend.

Spamming is one great thing thing affects our blogs and traffic negatively. Sometimes out of zeal to grow your blog you innocently get trapped into spamming sometimes even unconsciously. This is more common with newbie bloggers.

Spamming is really a job that is hated by everyone. It spoil all your efforts in just a second. So one should do all his work with loyalty. Only this is the way how we can get serious visitors to our blog. Rest is discussed in this post very detailed. good to see this post.

    Hi Ade,

Nice tips to make an honest and efficient blogger. However regarding spamming I started to doubt. My commentLuv was disabled for some time and the I was just astonished to see the spam comments in moderation queue. It was such a small interval but still a huge number of spam comments. If spamming is not working at all, nobody would dive into such an vigorous spamming. I started to doubt if spamming does not work.

      Hi Suresh,

Am glad to have you here, I believe commentluv also prevent spam comment however I believe that is an experience on how important it is to have commentluv in order to reduce our blog spam comment if at all we make use of spam plugin.

    Hello Adesanmi,
A nice article man. Loved to read it. All the points are very good. A true blogger will never spam obviously, because he/she knows the values of comments and the feelings behind the comments. And I also use the tags with my posts, actually it has its own benefits. It divides your articles in different categories which help your readers in finding particular articles easily. Reading other blogs depend upon the quality of your articles. How well you write, much you will be able to attract the readers. Thanks for sharing a quality article with us. Keep blogging :-)

Great resource i must say, its not just all about driving traffic but the quality of the traffic also matters, you can simply drive traffic that won’t convert and it won’t be of good use or one that will increase the bounce rate of your site and get your search engine ranking lowered. So you must avoid any form of traffic that won’t convert. You have explicitly explained the points clearly in your article.

      Hi Nwosu,

Great view bro, I wonder why many bloggers prefer targeting social media audience instead of search engine, and my findings shows it is a traffic that converts and no just page-view however, getting quality traffic that convert need a targeted audience. Thanks for comping boss.

    Hi Adesanmi,
I totally Agree with you. Tags is really very very important but one question come in my mind. We should use tags as Noindex or index. I am using tags as noindex. is this task is useful or not.

      Hi Irfan,

It depends on individual differences whether to use tag as index or non-index but for it to fulfil it purpose it should be indexed.

But If we do tags as Index then the problem is duplicate title tag occur that cause Google penalize. many webmaster says use tags as noindex in WordPress.

          Hi Irfan,

Glad to hear your view about this again, although many bloggers don’t use index for their tag even Matt Cutts says it no really encouraged however I still believed that our tag are not really our keyword but related keyword then why not allow Google to index it.

great bro, traffic is very essential in blogging and what some bloggers just don’t understand is posting articles that people want to read, even social media readers will not be bounce readers since the article is very good and will also help the article to go viral and that tons of traffic which will surely convert, so I believe in targeting both social media and also search engines

Nice post Adesanmi. You bring up some very good points especially about spamming. When it comes to tags I think it is important not to use too many tags. I try to focus on one keyword only for my posts. It is about quality and not quantity.

      Hi Apollo,

Although there are no stipulated number of tags that could be used for any post but excessive use of tags can lead to spamming in reference to search engines
